ST LOUIS (LALATE) ? The ?China Octomom? who debuted a photo of her eight Chinese babies is prompting a national debate in her native county. The Chinese Octomom has been dubbed ?abaotai muqin? by local news. After the Octomom revealed a picture of her eight babies, Guangzhou health officials scrambled to determine if the picture was real or fake. For a moment, fake Beyonce baby birth photos didn?t make headline news in China today: rather the abaotai muqin.
The government?s official newspaper Guangzhou Daily tells readers this week that the woman originates from Guangzhou in south China. Unlike Nadya Suleman, the China Octomom did not give birth to octuplets with in vitro fertilization.
Rather, heath officials claim that the woman carried two babies, then used surrogate mothers to simultaneously carry three babies each. When she was done, eight babies were born by three women over a two month period. Eleven nannies were hired.
Unlike Nadya Suleman who has confessed to excessive moment troubles, the China Octomom had lots of cash ready for her endeavor. She reportedly spent $160,000 to have two surrogates (apparently illegally) carry the children. She now has four boys and four girls, roughly one year old.
Guangdong Health Department officials tell news that the woman has allegedly violated the country?s family planning rules. The case is under investigation. The name of the mother is being withheld.
Chinese Central Television news anchor Bai Yansong was speechless when he did a special news report on the babies last weekend. He said ?it sounds more like a fairy tale? to have eight babies at once.
